In mid-May, Trump-appointed U.S. Department of Justice Special Counsel John H. Durham released his Report on Matter Related to Intelligence Activities and Investigations Arising Out of the 2016 Presidential Campaigns confirming what many had long suspected: former U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton; former President, Barack Obama; members the CIA, FBI, and NSA, and various political characters created the “Russia Collusion Hoax” to drive a narrative that would undermine his election in 2016 and help thwart his re-election in 2020 with the help of a well-fed and compliant media apparatus.
The result is a still deeply divided populace, constantly distracted by the new “current thing”, who shrug off the dirty politics, the propaganda, the Info-Ops like Qanon, the Jan6th Capitol events, and Mike Lindell centered events surrounding claims of a stolen 2020 election which were, in my thinking, a part of America’s coup, a state capture, which many saw as America’s Color Revolution.
There were dozens of actors whose efforts were important, but none stood out to me like the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Brian Auten. You see, Auten is a Christian defender of Liberation Theology and an author and at least for a time, a member of a Sovereign Grace Ministries affiliated church in Fairfax, Virginia. Sovereign Grace Ministries grew out of the Jesus People Movement in the 1970s. As a member of SGM Auten, in 2011, offered, at FirstThings.com his views on “whether Christians should condone internet whistleblowing” in the case of the Brent Detwiler’s SGM leaking of a “600+ page document” during what Auten called an implosion of the denomination.
In his capacity as Supervisory Intelligence Analyst for the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane “investigation” into accusations of collusion with Russia’s Putin, Dr. Brian Auten was at the tip of the spear:
Involved in obtaining FISAs on Trump campaign members.
Responsible for verifying Steele’s intelligence.
Labeled evidence regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop as disinformation.
Drafted language on Steele dossier included in Obama’s 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA).
Utilized a suspected Russian spy (Igor Danchenko) whom he had investigated in 2011 to accuse Carter Page of being a Russian spy.
Taught an “ethics of spying” course at Patrick Henry College
What stirs curiosity is that, for some time, Dr. Auten served on the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) of the Southern Baptist Convention in an unknown capacity. Was it during the near implosion of another denomination – Southern Baptists? We do not know.
Why was Brian Auten asked to serve on a commission which, in 2019, would lead the SBC into the Social Justice Movement and create great division? Hat tip ghost of daniel parker @seekerOTL on Twitter for locating Dr. Auten’s name on the ERLC website.
Many will recall that Russell Moore, former head of ERLC, was an outspoken opponent of candidate and President Trump. Some may even recall that “vulture capitalist” Paul Singer’s Free Beacon commissioned Fusion GPS to investigate Trump even prior to Hillary Clinton’s “Trump-Russia” tweet that officially set off the FBI’s Operation Crossfire Hurricane, in which Brian Auten was a key player.
Moore and Singer were connected through Singer’s “The Philos Project” sponsoring a trip in November 2015 to Israel that included another former ERLC chief – Richard Land – and five other ERLC members, their support for Marco Rubio, and through their determination that Trump should never be president – a movement also known as Never Trump.
Fast-forward to 2019 – the year social justice came out of the SBC closet. At the June #SBC2019 the big buzz was about adopting Resolution 9, the Critical Race Theory (CRT) resolution which passed because Al Mohler advocates Social Justice.
In July 2019, Pulpit and Pen published “Justice Democrats” Founder is THE Organizer of Evangelical Social Justice Movement” identifying Zack Exley, creator of Brand New Congress, The Squad, and radical leftist congresswoman Alexandra Cortez – AOC. Exley has worked with many powerful people such as Pierre Omidyar and far left organizations like MoveOn.org.
There is no Evangelical group larger than Southern Baptists, so it may be Exley’s efforts that spread the New Social Gospel to SBC leaders such as Al Mohler and Russell Moore and to publications Christianity Today and The Gospel Coalition among others. But social justice had made inroads into evangelicalism and the SBC through Richard Land long before Exley became well-known.
Land, was in fact, brought under scrutiny last June by Sovereign Nations’ Michael O’Fallon for his connections to the World Economic Forum and for “facilitating and forwarding the ‘Critical Immigration Praxis’ of Open Societies Foundations, CFR (Council on Foreign Relations), and the NIF…”. What was not mentioned is Richard Land’s purported association with the Council for National Policy, a right-wing organization founded by another Southern Baptist, Tim LaHaye, in 1981.
A Twitter debate ensued:
Land’s point - that God can choose people like George Soros to achieve His purpose, that Christians and non-Christians, too, are His creation - is one that humans should remember.
God is in control. We are here to serve His purpose.
O’Fallon’s outrage at Land was reported by the Capstone Report, who also connected Rick Warren, another “SBC elite” (at that time), and his involvement since 2008 with World Economic Forum. Warren is a leader in the megachurch / church growth movement which began after the Jesus People Movement. The megachurch is, IMO, a beast system for the most part. Maybe there are exceptions, but Warren and others like him Do Not Preach the Gospel.
The ERLC of the Southern Baptist Convention was infiltrated and then overtaken by outside influences that are opposed to scriptural interpretations and traditions that existed long before anyone knew the plans that our betters in the United Nations – World Economic Forum sent Klaus Schwab out to communicate in the midst of the Global Plandemic with his 2020 title “COVID-19: Great Reset.”
That brings me back to Brian Auten who, in September 2019, wrote “Notes on the Evangelical Dark Web” published on mereorthodoxy.com naming both Pulpit and Pen and Sovereign Nations alongside two other websites as “insurgents” and “neo-fundamentalist.”
Auten provides steps for creating a counter-insurgency, “for countering the evangelical dark web” including bury assertions in demand for context, defend “cultural Marxist”, answer questions with questions, feed SJWs whatever they’ll swallow, don’t use partner outlets to defend yourself… especially the ERLC, deny, deny, deny Frankfurt school influence and for goodness sake don’t mention that U.S. intelligence brought The Frankfurt School for Social Research and critical theory here from Germany or that Liberation Theology is Social Gospel 2.0.
What is this “insurgency” that Auten is fighting? The biggest, newest Social Gospel project at this time is designed to promote, spread, and exalt homosexuality and transgenderism to America’s children through our schools and churches. Resistance to the “liberate the oppressed trans” project or to “the Great Reset” is “insurgency” as Auten’s Liberation Theology sees it’s mission in the same way that the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals - as a way to help or liberate “oppressed” people. Soon all humans will be oppressed… We will ALL own nothing….and be happy.
So, why was the same FBI “analyst,” Brian Auten, who is so deeply involved in the federal government’s Operation Crossfire Hurricane, placed on the SBC’s most left-leaning commission, the ERLC? When did he serve? What did he do? For whom did he do what he did?
Those are questions that more Americans should be asking about Brian Auten!
